JO TRIZILA – President & CEO

Jo Trizila is a multi-talented, high-caliber public/media relations and marketing pro, with over 20 years of experience building and leading integrated marketing and strategic public relations operations for companies. She has an in-depth background in directing marketing, promotions, media and public relations programs for major Fortune 500 corporations, small to mid-size companies and not-for-profits. She is experienced in conceptualizing, creating and implementing innovative promotional and marketing events. Additionally, she has held highly visible leadership positions and has earned a reputation for continually making a positive bottom-line difference while fostering excellent relations and maintaining a high profile in business.


Jo is consistently successful in reengineering overall operations to minimize and maintain costs and increase profitability and exposure. She is experienced with developing and leading business opportunities and marketing strategies to maximize growth and increase revenue.


With her high-visibility public relations positions as the direct liaison to clients, community leaders, elected officials and other businesses, Jo brings experience in developing and maintaining an exemplary network of business and media contacts as a result of her strong communication skills.


Prior to starting TrizCom and PitchPR, Jo was the senior director of media relations for the Dallas Regional Chamber for four and a half years. Previously she was the director of marketing and publications for the Irving Arts Center.


She holds a B.F.A. in theatre performance from the University of Texas at Arlington and has completed post graduate work at Wayne State University and the University of Dallas.


Currently, Jo serves on the Board of Directors for AAF (American Advertising Federation), is a Board Member for Heroes for Children and is on the host committee for An Evening with Pat Green for Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer and Taylor’s Gift.  She is also a member of the National Association of Professional Women.  Her nonprofit activities are numerous and include Taste of the NFL: The Ultimate Dallas Cowboys Tailgate Party, On-Line/Silent Auction Chair (2006); Big Brothers Big Sisters, Big Sister (1999 – 2004), Big Brothers Big Sisters, Gala Chair (75th Anniversary – 2003 & 2004); The Freedom Run, Founding Member & Executive Committee (November 2001 – 2004); Dallas Theatre League, President (1999 – 2002); Irving Chamber of Commerce & Four Season’s Resort & Hotel Golf Tournament Chair (October 2000); Leon Rabin Awards, Chair (1998); and served on the Dallas/Fort Worth Area Tourism Council, Media Committee (1998- 2004). Jo is the recipient of the YWCA Woman of Achievement 2000 Technology and Communications Award (2000) and was selected for Texas Woman Magazine Woman of the Month (April 1999 issue). She is a Leadership Irving graduate (1999-2000) and served as its vice president (2000-2001).


What she loves most about startups and entrepreneurs?  “Anyone who starts a business is crazy and passionate. I love the energy that startup founders bring. I compare entrepreneur’s brains to being in a 10x10 room with 5,000 Ping-Pong balls and 10 leaf blowers. I love the action, energy, ideas and creativeness.”




MARTIN STEIN - Vice President, Pitch PR

Martin has over eight years of experience in public relations and social media marketing for a wide variety of clients, ranging from award-winning tech startups and cutting-edge digital currency groups to major Las Vegas nightclubs and even an international online dating corporation. He has placed clients’ stories in an array of outlets and media, including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Today Show, Popular Science, CNN, TechCrunch, GigaOM, Playboy Magazine, VentureBeat, Details and others. Before PR, he was a multiple award-winning journalist and editor with 25 years of experience. He holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in film and video production from the Emily Carr University of Art & Design in Vancouver, Canada.



DANA COBB – Director, Business Development & Senior Account Executive

Dana Cobb has over 20 years’ experience in marketing, publicity and promotions. A graduate of SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts, Dana’s career spans from marketing for the prolific Broadway producers, Dodger Theatricals, to her recent experience as the director of marketing for the AT&T Performing Arts Center, where she oversaw the dynamic publicity team in the launch of over 74 events and announcements each year .


As a member of the TrizCom and PitchPR team, she has afforded placements on behalf of her clients on international outlets such as BBC Worldwide, The New York Times, National Public Radio (NPR) and AFI. In her own backyard, Dallas, her clients (who range from restaurants, fashion and furnishing, representatives of the local labor market, an entrepreneur start-up accelerator, and specialized events and trade shows) have been covered on all major broadcast outlets, print and online media on a consistent basis.


With rich business and cultural experience and proven innovative marketing strategies, she brings a unique skill set to her clients. Dana is a shameless promoter of the arts to the culturally curious in and around Dallas through her on- air association with KERA.




STEFANIE LEE – Assistant Account Executive

Stefanie Lee, assistant account executive for PitchPR, graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.B.A in marketing. She brings a wealth of experience to benefit our clients and uses her skills to successfully communicate and manage important client information.  Stefanie’s excellent organizational and administrative talents ensure the success of our projects.  She has substantial experience in the communications industry and has worked with a variety of organizations including those in professional services, healthcare, financial services, technology and retail.


ALLISON PLESS – Writer & Editor

Allison Pless brings more than 25 years of writing, proofing and editing experience to PitchPR, including serving as managing editor of a community newspaper (print and online) and as a technical writer and project manager for a large nonprofit. She has been directly involved with the launch of new products and the startup of new departments and services. Her volunteer work has included writing and publishing a bi-monthly statewide newsletter and a monthly news page in a national magazine for a women’s organization, and she currently volunteers time each week editing and proofreading items for her church. Born in San Antonio (she is a sixth-generation Texan and proud of it), Allison has lived in Dallas for most of her life. She is a graduate of Texas Tech University, where she received a B.A. in history with a minor in English.



TREY BOWLES – Co-Founder & CEO of the Dallas Entrepreneur Center

In June 2013, Trey launched the Dallas Entrepreneur Center (DEC), a central location for entrepreneurs to learn how to start, build and grow businesses through training, education, mentorship, promotion and capital investment. Trey works closely with the DEC staff to engage executives, mentors and other valuable experts within the Dallas community and across the country to maintain a strong and robust resource offering for DEC startups/members.


Bowles has significant experience with building and running technology-based media companies, beginning in 2001 when he helped build Morpheus – which had over 100 million downloads of its application in less than one year. Additionally, Trey helped build World Digital Media Group, which was the strategic investment between RadioShack, Dish Network (Echo Star) and Sirius Satellite Radio, with the primary objective of creating a new entertainment company built to utilize each medium for enhanced distribution.




LAUREN ZEIEN – Vice President of Programming at the Dallas Entrepreneur Center

Lauren Zeien builds brands. She has spent the last decade honing in on skills necessary to navigate the ever-changing startup environment and juggle the many needs that come with new businesses in today’s world. Her practical experience working in hospitality, investments and with multiple startups has created a strong, dynamic network and a core set of best practices critical to new projects.

In Chicago, while working as the director of marketing for two plus years with a prominent hospitality group, Lauren was responsible for over $1.5M in sales and sponsorships. Realizing she had a strong interest in technology, Lauren joined 1871, Chicago’s first co-working space. As the communications director, her true understanding and passion for entrepreneurship was ignited.

In early 2014, Lauren started her own business, The Strategy Artists, specializing in working with investors and growing startups through partnerships and marketing. With a client list reaching companies like Equinox and Red Bull, as well as a laundry list of startups in the span of 18 months, Lauren was instrumental in the success of her many clients.

In November of 2014, The Strategy Artists was acquired by a Dallas-based agency. After the acquisition, Lauren worked as the executive director for LaunchDFW – increasing revenues, audience and its social network by 150%. Today, Lauren is vice president of programming at the Dallas Entrepreneur Center.
